Shift is primarily a project-based organisation. We have employed some of the best and brightest minds in the web industry to work on our web projects.
While our creatives are busily working away with you on the design and information architecture for your latest website, it helps to have a professional keeping tabs on deadlines, dollars and deliverables.
Our team of project managers have been hand-picked for their ability to manage web and technology projects. All of our project managers have web and/or design experience, meaning that they can work closely with you and the design team, and they can communicate from a position of knowledge and experience.
Requirements can often change during the life of a project. Our project managers are trained to deal with these changes, and, because we use an iterative approach, we can often find ways to incorporate necessary changes and features into projects as they are progressing.
Shift can:
- manage and collaborate on a web project all the way from inception to completion, keeping you informed and involved every step of the way
- deliver regular status reports as the project progresses, and handle the delivery of all project outputs
- establish lines of communication between your organization and ours, so that the relevant people can work together as closely as possible.
An Iterative Approach
Shift has found that projects are most successful when our clients are given frequent opportunity for feedback. We favour an incremental approach to web projects, which means that we prefer to deliver the smallest, most important and most complete piece of a project first, and then to continue to build on top of that. This results in a series of small iterations, which over time add up to something spectacular.
Tracking Progress
Shift’s approach to project management has evolved over more than ten years of successfully delivering web projects. Our approach is an amalgam of web project best practice, general project management best practice, and techniques that work best for our clients.
Our staff’s hours and deliverables are tracked on a day-by-day basis, giving our project managers up to date information on project status. This means that if a project begins going off course, our project managers can usually bring things back on track within 48 hours.
We have found through experience that our clients often have tracking mechanisms of their own, and we are comfortable with providing reports at any required frequency. Quality assurance and testing is built into every phase of our projects, ensuring that what is ultimately delivered is well-tested - inside and out.
Shift has successfully delivered hundreds of web projects for scores of clients. We thoroughly enjoy the challenge of a new project, and derive no greater satisfaction than seeing a project through to its ultimate conclusion.
