The weather’s a big deal in New Zealand. Shift’s redesign of the MetService website has created a much enhanced user experience and has helped boost its advertising earning potential.
Challenge
The MetService website has always been loaded with good, reliable weather information but its clunky navigation and dated style was frustrating users. There was also a desire to grow and improve the site’s role as a marketing and sales channel for the business.
Action
We had a good look at the priorities of the site’s diverse users to understand what weather information was important to them and why. With the user firmly at the centre of the process we developed clear pathways to reports, forecasts, cameras and maps that work for boaties, townies, famers and weekend planners alike.
Results
The new MetService website is a joy to look at and a breeze to navigate. Best of all, the new developments have boosted the website’s earning potential. There are more opportunities for sponsored content, more space for advertising and the fresh new look is a major boost for the MetService brand.
