Living and learning in New Zealand
Tailoring information to user preferences makes this educational portal an inspiring and useful tool for international students.
Education New Zealand has taken the lead in the fiercely competitive international education market with a portal with all the appeal of a good travel planning site.
When Shift reviewed the NewZealandEducated.com website and its competitors we saw the need to position New Zealand as a great place to live, as well as learn. And with a diverse range of international audiences usability was a top priority.
The new site’s centrepiece is a heat map and motivation ‘mixer’ – an interactive map of New Zealand that changes colour to indicate ‘hot’ or ‘cold’ regions for doing what you love, be it skiing, the arts or surfing.
You can create a shortlist of courses and institutions in the regions most suited to your personal interests. Rich photography and vivid descriptions give you a taste of each area’s scenery and attractions.
The site is geared to make international students feel right at home in Godzone. Content is available in multiple languages and blogs and international student profiles add a personalised touch.
An intuitive navigation gets potential students to the region and courses best suited to their interests in just a few clicks, making it easy for them to make that vital first contact with institutions.
The simplicity of the user experience belies the complexity of a site that filters and ranks information to deliver a tailor-made list of education and lifestyle options.
And there are plans in the pipeline to add even more features and functionality to further improve the user experience.
Recently we updated the ENZ homepage, and created an Interactive TVC.
