Progressive web presence for Hong Kong school
Discovery Bay International School, Hong Kong, chose Shift to redesign their website and content management system
Discovery Bay International School is a forward thinking school in Hong Kong that wanted a web presence as progressive as their educational philosophies.
Competition amongst Hong Kong’s international education sector is intense. Shift helped Discovery Bay to showcase their strengths to discerning students from all over the world.
The crisp, light and inspiring design belies the new site’s role as an everyday business workhorse - a key communication tool for teachers, students and parents.
Using web 2.0 technology we integrated Google data services into the content management system. This makes it quick and easy for teachers to upload class photos through Picasa and Google calendars keep everyone in the loop.
The teachers love the site for its simplicity and the response from students and parents has been just as positive.
The school approached us on the strength of our portfolio and our complete range of services. With a bit of Kiwi ingenuity we were able to provide a solution that compared very favourably with those offered by web designers in Hong Kong.
We’ll be making enhancements down the track, such as an intranet that integrates calendars and communications for all staff. School is, after all, about trying new things.
