Multiple Pathways for Diverse Users
Shift designed a fresh new website for ATTTO – the industry training group for the aviation, travel, tourism and museums industries.
ATTTO is the industry training organisation for the aviation, tourism, travel and museums industries.
Their diverse clients and target audiences include students, teachers, education providers, businesses and industry bodies.
ATTTO’s old website held an enormous amount of information and resources but the design and structure was fairly static and tired. Navigation was clunky and representation of the four core industries was buried.
We were asked to simplify things and to build logical pathways to information that would make sense to the different user groups.
First we needed to get our heads around ATTTO’s business so we stationed ourselves in their offices for a while. This provided an insight into their operations and clients, which we used to devise logical routes into and through the new site.
Our designs surface resources that had been buried, giving quick access to the most popular and topical pages. A Flash header provides multiple entry points depending on a visitor’s industry of interest.
We introduced shopping functionality so you can now order and pay for resources online. This marks a dynamic shift from the previous model of faxed orders and posted invoices.
With a new content management system it’s quick and easy for ATTTO staff to load news and articles and tag them to feature in different parts of the site.
Users are impressed with the fresh new look, improved functionality and easy navigation. Traffic has increased and ATTTO is thrilled with the way the site has transformed the way they work.
