James Guthrie

Developer

James has been building websites since before the turn of the century, in the ancient pre-CSS and pre-Javascript era.

Prior to joining Shift, he worked on a number of high profile Kiwi websites, such as the New Zealand Embassy, MetService, Forest & Bird, and The New Zealand Government.

We want the finest wines available to humanity. And we want them here, and we want them now!

Withnail & I

On the side, James ran bizgirl.blogspot.com, the blog of his librarian alter-ego "Natalie Biz". The site won a Netguide Best Blogger award, was nominated in the Bloggies, and was named as an honouree at the Webby Awards. He also founded the community blog Wellingtonista.com and contributes to the sports podcast/blog Dropkicks.co.nz.

Now working as a developer at Shift Wellington, his favourite project has been nzcycletrail.com, due to it including "lots of nice whizzy stuff, interactive Google Maps, API integration with Flickr and jQuery magic all over the show."
