Websites are often judged by their usability and appearance, but the seemingly invisible technical components are just as important.

"Development" is a rather broad and all-emcompassing term for the work that our team of production specialists and developers undertake.   The development phase starts when beautiful designs are signed off and it's time for our developers to start writing code.

Our technical team cover a broad range of disciplines, from HTML, CSS and JavaScript, to .Net, PHP, Cold Fusion, Flash, Content Management System (CMS) implementation, systems integration, and testing.  We utilise the latest and greatest web technologies and disciplines to bring your online goals into fruition.

In New Zealand, the Government Web Standards are mandatory for public sector sites. They aim to ensure all New Zealanders have equal access to information online, regardless of their physical abilities and the quality of their equipment and software.  These standards are central to our best practice approach. Shift creates standards-compliant sites that don’t compromise on uniqueness and elegance.

At Shift, we don’t endorse a particular CMS product and continue to explore emerging technologies.  Our approach is to identify the appropriate development solution for each client, based on their user needs and business requirements.
