Shift sponsors the Onyas
14 July 2009
At Shift we’ve won our fair share of awards over this time – including Webby Awards ('the Oscars of the internet'), Cannes Lions and Best Awards. Now we think its time for our peers to be recognized and quality local online experiences to have the spotlight shone on them.
If your agency, or online team, have created a delightful online experience this year then you should be getting your entry in right now. There are categories that recognise distinct aspects of websites such as content or design, through to mobile or web applications and an overall "most outstanding website".
Categories will be judged by an international panel of experts including Alex Wright, the Director of User Experience and Product Research at The New York Times and Thomas Fuchs, developer of the javascript library used on many of the worlds most popular websites.
Mike Brown, organiser of Webstock comments on why they created the Onyas,
"We wanted to create some awards that meant something to the industry, that were credible and relevant. We wanted some awards that focused on the web and didn't relegate that to a category amongst broader design awards. And we wanted the awards to be judged by the best people we could find"
Competition is sure to be fierce, but you're only in to win if you enter, so we encourage you to check out the site for entry details today. Make sure your work, or your agency’s work, gets the accolade of the industry as well as your users.
From the entries finalists will be picked and announced for each category in early December. The winners will be declared at an awards ceremony on February 19
Shift are proud to support their peers and clients in New Zealand, recognising the world class nature of our online experiences, and stand alongside other key sponsors of the event - NZ Post and Qantas Award winning magazine Idealog.
Oh and the “Onyas” name? If you get it, then good onya bro!
